Why counting the “envelope” before the start of your appointment is actually as professional as you can get.
Your date has gone GREAT! the conversation flowed, the chemistry and connection was perfect. You walk him to the door and thank him for a great time and maybe ask when the next date will be. Then you go to check the envelope and find…
STOP! Why wasn’t this checked before the date started? Lately there have been WAY too many posts about providers receiving fake or inaccurate money. I’ve seen one that received wood chips!!! And even more providers admitting to the public that they don’t count their rate until after they finish the appointment and the client leaves because they find counting the “envelope” to be unprofessional, rude and or tacky.
We run a business. This IS a profession and needs to be treated as such. Checking the “envelope” prior to the start of the date is not unprofessional and does not take away from the experience. Boundaries are put in place for a reason. The payment is a boundary that is standard in ALL industries. We would not be here without being paid our fee. With a TRANSACTIONAL ARRANGEMENT, the transaction is pretty important… If a client would like to not deal with this there are several solutions to this.
Seek out those who do not charge for their time.
Prepay in FULL prior to arriving to the date
Take part in extended date packages (such as the ones I have created here)
Understand that you sought out a provider that requires to be paid for their time, then pay them their rate or refer back to number 1.
As one of my mentors stated recently “The honor system sadly does not exist like it should.” The need for me writing this blog is a prime example. A good rule of thumb to follow is “until the cash is IN YOUR hands, you shouldn’t count it as yours.” Similarly with gifts from clients and fans, never give service for items until you have them IN YOUR HANDS, too many cam girls have been taken advantage of by the client canceling the order after she has already given the private show or sent the custom pics/clip. Electronic payments are not considered yours until the payment has cleared, (and is unable to be charged back), you don’t count those funds/ gifts if you don’t have them in your hands/bank account.
And telling clients publicly that you don’t count your envelope or that you’re constantly getting scammed is a great way to continue to get scammed. You’re attracting shady people who know they can get away with robbing, shorting and playing you in general. Yes blacklists are utilized but most only utilize them AFTER they have been robbed. Now realizing that this person has been blacklisted multiple times.
*The blacklist only works if you utilize it BEFORE the date. As a part of screening. Only looking him up later to add him does not help you in any way* but that’s another blog entry.
